(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On Thursday, April 13, 2017 at approximately 10:10 pm, officers from the Armstrong Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of a possible impaired driver in the community of Armstrong. The driver was reported to be driving an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV)
Officers located the ATV and spoke with the driver. It was determined the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Thunder Bay Police Service for further tests.
Leon NAYANOOKEESIC, 38 years of age, from Armstrong was arrested and charged with:
-Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code,
-Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Armstrong on May 30, 2017 to answer to the charges.
