GREENSTONE] CATTLE TRUCK COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 11 2016-02-01
(GERALDTON, ON) – On February 1, 2016 at approximately 10:39 a.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Greenstone Detachment responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 11 west of Geraldton. The investigation revealed that a commercial motor vehicle carrying 79 cattle collided with a logging truck. As a result, the cattle truck rolled onto its side.
There were no injuries sustained by the drivers involved in the collision.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has been engaged and will be attending the scene to assess the well-being of the cattle and determine the best course of action for removal.
Traffic is not being obstructed, but the motoring public are reminded to use caution as OPP officers, employees of the Ministry of Transportation and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency may be working in the area.
The investigation is continuing.
