MALE ARRESTED AND CHARGED FOR BREAK, ENTER AND THEFT IN NAKINA
(GERALDTON, ON) – On August 25, 2015, officers from the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break, enter and theft at a local business in Nakina, Ont.

Upon arrival at the business in the morning, employees discovered the business had been broken into and a large sum of money had been stolen.
Officers from Greenstone OPP, and the North West Region OPP Crime Unit commenced an investigation with the assistance of the North West Region OPP Forensic Identification Unit. As the investigation progressed, a person of interest, being from British Columbia was identified. The British Columbia RCMP were contacted and provided assistance as well.

On December 10, 2015 a second break and enter was reported at the same business location, at this time there was nothing reported as stolen.
The investigation led to the arrest of Jason SYLVAIN, 35 years of age, from Duncan, British Columbia. It was learned through the investigation that Mr. SYLVAIN was responsible for both of the break and enters that occurred at the business.

He has been charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code:
-Break and Enter x 2,
-Mischief over $5000 x 2,
-Breach of a Conditional Sentence Order x 2.
He has been remanded into custody at the Thunder Bay District Jail.
