(Dryden, ON.) –On June 27, 2016 members of the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received information from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in regards to a wanted person that was possibly in the Dryden area and travelling with a female companion.

Dryden OPP located the male and female on Highway 17, Southworth Township.

The wanted person was identified as Jason MASSE (32 years old) of Alberta.  MASSE was wanted by the Provost, Alberta RCMP for multiple offences which included assault with a weapon, pointing of a firearm, forcible confinement, uttering threats, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of a restricted firearm and 4 counts of failing to comply with conditions.

Dryden OPP officers arrested MASSE for failing to comply with a recognizance contrary to Section 145(3) of the Criminal Code.

MASSE was held for a Bail hearing and will appear in Dryden court on June 28, 2016.

MASSE will be returned to Provost, Alberta RCMP on the outstanding warrants after appearing on local charges.
