(SIOUX NARROWS, ON) Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Kenora Detachment have charged three youths following a lengthy investigation of several break and enters.
In the early morning hours of Saturday December 5th, 2015, the Kenora OPP received a report of an attempted break-in to a residence in the Sioux Narrows area. Before gaining access, the suspects were scared off by the homeowner. Later that afternoon, police responded to another report made by a seasonal resident, that their cottage had recently been broken into. Police discovered six (6) additional seasonal cottages in the area had also been entered. Alcohol was stolen. Further investigation revealed that the suspects then drove to Kenora and broke into a local business, stealing several bottles of liquor.
As a result of the investigation, three male youths ages 14, 16, and 17 years old have been charged with eight (8) counts each of Break and Enter to a Dwelling House contrary to the Criminal Code. Two of the three youths have also been charged with Failing to Comply with Conditions contrary to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
All three young persons have been arrested and are being held for bail court.
